SUMMARY:WINTER School Holiday Program 2024 - La Larr Ba Gauwa - SHRED RIDERS
DESCRIPTION:***** Rider Grouping System  ***** \n Kids rider level descriptions can be found here \nWe also have have a pictorial glossary here to help explain the various bike setups and bike relevant terms mentioned within the rider level descriptors. \nOur rider levels are replacing our previous system of grouping by age. The system will enable us to form groups based on; bike setup\, confidence\, current riding experience\, and current skill level.  Age will still be a consideration\, but generally only used for guidance. The new system will importantly enable us to move riders across our groupings as they progress and develop their skills! \nIf you are unsure on where your rider should be placed\, please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss. \n************************************************************************************************************************************* \nRIDER PRE-REQUISITES AND ABILITY LEVELS \nThe terrain at La Larr Ba Gauwa is not suitable for beginner and newer MTB riders. \nWe HIGHLY recommend that riders will have previously ridden the trails at La Larr Ba Gauwa or are confident riding both green (Beginner) and ‘hard blue’ (Intermediate) rated trails. They need to be confident operating their controls; brakes and gears and be willing to ride a range of trail features such as berms\, rock slabs\, roll downs along with steep gradients both up and down. If riders registered in this program are not able to ride the terrain safely our coaches will communicate this with parents at our earliest opportunity so that alternative arrangements may be made. \nOur ‘MTB Connect Program’ is a great option for new or less confident riders\, as we only access the green rated trail and include adventure activities and nature play as part of this program. \nThis 2-day Shred riders’ (riding at an intermediate level) program is designed to enable young people to develop the fundamental skills of mountain biking. \nThe program will progress your rider’s stability\, balance and ability to operate their controls efficiently and safely. This will be done through fun group\, activities that build essential skills and confidence helping students to ride safely and smoothly and with good control. \nEach session: \n\nDesigned and planned to progress the fundamental skills sets\, therefore it is essential that the 2 sessions are completed consecutively.\nIncludes plenty of trail time to develop rider’s ability to ride the purpose-built mountain bike terrain at La Larr Ba Gauwa with confidence\, safety and control. As skills are consolidated\, we progressively access more challenging terrain over the 2 days.\nExtended 3-hour session includes time for a short BYO snack/food break.\n\nWe maintain a coaching ratio of 1:6 which allows us to safely manage our riders and importantly to maximise learning time where we prioritize providing specific individual feedback. \n\nWhen: Thursday 11th & Friday 12th of July 2024\nMeet: The Oak Forest\, La Larr Ba Gauwa Park\, Harcourt\nTime: 10am – 1pm\nCost: $165.00 Inc GST per rider (2 x 3hr sessions)\n\nIf a day of the program needs to be rescheduled due to weather\, this will fall on the day after the program concludes. \n***** Please note we require minimum registrations of 10 for this program to go ahead ***** \nMissed out on a ticket?! Please register your interest via our wait list.
