SUMMARY:Term 1\, 2026 SUMMER/AUTUMN SQUAD
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThis weekly session will be run on Thursdays evenings throughout Term 1\, 2026. This program is open to riders between 14 and 17 years of age. Age is a guide; skill level/ability/fitness may also determine suitability. \nWho is this Program For?\nThe terrain we access for this program is not suitable for beginner or newer riders. We will be alternating between two locations for this program; \n\n‘The Piney’s’ Castlemaine\nOne Tree Hill\, Bendigo\n\nRiders will ideally have experience riding intermediate to advanced terrain and be confident riding both green (beginner) and ‘dark blue’ (intermediate) trails. Effective and safe operation of brakes and gears\, and the ability to ride trail features like berms\, rock slabs\, roll-downs\, and steep gradients. \nThe program will cater to riders who are focussing on cross country along with gravity enduro or down hill disciplines. Riders will ideally have intentions of training in preparation for a goal event eg. State and National level series races along with National Titles.   This session is for riders who are wanting to take their riding further\, both in skills and fitness. It is imperative that riders have sufficient bike fitness to ride for up to 2hrs in challenging terrain including up to 500m elevation gain in this time period\, yes we have to be able to go up to go down! \nIf you are unsure of your riders suitability to take participate in this program please get in touch with us here to discuss suitability \nSession Structure\nEach training session will have a specific focus and will rotate between the below session types: \n\nTimed race simulations or interval sessions to develop race craft\, skills and race fitness\nIntermediate to advanced skills sessions\nGuided endurance rides for maintenance of general fitness and to build endurance\n\nOur goal for this program is to foster a fun\, social but also competitive atmosphere for peers of a similar age with similar goals. \nProgram Details\n\nTotal Sessions: 8 sessions in total\nMake-Up Sessions: Offered at the end of the term for any sessions postponed due to weather.\nAbsentee Policy: No credits for missed sessions due to absenteeism.\n\nSchedule\nDates: Thursdays throughout Term 1\, 2026 \nFebruary: \n\n5th: Piney’s\n12th: One Tree Hill\n19th: Piney’s\n26th: One Tree Hill\n\nMarch \n\n5th: Piney’s\n12th: One Tree Hill\n19th: Piney’s\n26th: One Tree Hill\nApril: 2nd (SPARE)\n\nTime: 5:30pm – 7:30pm (2-hour session) \nLocation: TBC \nCost\nProgram Fee: $310.80 Inc GST ($38.85 per session) \nCoaches\nDepending on sign ups we will be working in either 2 or 3 groups of up to 6 riders for this program so places will be limited. We feel very lucky to have Daan van Dorenmalen along with Angus Melville\, rolling this program out for us. Daan is a certified GSMBC Level 2 coach\, Angus Level 1 and all qualified Wilderness first aiders. Our coaches have a wealth of coaching experience along with riding and race experience to offer our riders. \nEquipment Required\n\nMTB in good working order ( brakes working\, brake levers working\, gears shifting\, tyres have ample tread and are not worn out\, chain is not worn)\nAustralian Standards Approved open face helmet (no cracks\, preferably has been purchased in the last 2- 3 years)\nProtection Equipment for race simulation sessions – At a minimum: full face helmet + knee and elbow pads\, gloves. Optional goggles\, chest/body armour.\nEquipment to fix a flat (pump\, tube\, C02 canister & repair plugs if you have tubeless tyres\, tyre levers etc.) and usual items for trailside repair (multitool)\nSuitable ride attire – Sun safe\, rain safe\nWater\, snacks\, sunscreen and any medications (All riders will need to be able to carry all their own water for the duration of the session – As there is not water on site\, we will provide a water drum for refilling bottles)\n\nImportant Note\nA minimum of 8 registrations is required for this program to proceed. \nWaitlist\nMissed out on a ticket? SUMMARY:SUMMER SQUAD - Trial Ride Registration
DESCRIPTION:This is a one off single session registration for  a trial ride in the Summer Squad Program \nBefore registering for a trial ride we ask that you either email or call us to discuss suitability and also our capacity to offer a trial ride. We operate to strict coaching ratios of 6 riders per coach so that we can effectively manage risk. \nOnce your rider has used their trial ride you will need to let us know if they would like to continue\, this will be dependent on if there are currently places remaining in the program.  Once you have let us know that your child would like to continue with the program\, a registration link will be emailed to you so that you can sign up for the remaining sessions in the term. \nIf you had any queries at all regarding the program or the trial ride please get in touch: jo@trailheadcoaching.com.au

Effective and safe operation of brakes and gears is essential along with the ability to ride trail features like berms\, rock slabs\, roll-downs\, and steep gradients. \nThe program will cater to riders who are focussing on cross country along with gravity enduro or down hill disciplines. DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThis program will run on select Saturday mornings from May through to September 2025. This program is open to riders between 14 and 17 years of age. Age is a guide; skill level/ability/fitness may also determine suitability. \nWho is this Program For?\nThe squad training session is a Trailhead Coaching program and is run independently of the club’s 2Wheel Academy program\, however it does compliment the 2WA skills based program nicely\, as well as the BMBC Summer Series racing. \nFirst and foremost this program is to provide an opportunity for riders to stay connected with their peers and continue riding and learning throughout the ‘off season’ or colder months of the year. \nRiders will ideally have intentions of training in preparation for a goal event eg. State and National level series races along with National Titles.  The session will cater to riders who are focussing on cross country along with gravity enduro or down hill. This session is for riders who are wanting to take their riding further\, both in skills and fitness. SUMMARY:Term 4\, 2024 MTB Skills Program - Harcourt- SQUAD TRAINING
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThis weekly session will be run on Thursdays throughout Term 4\, 2024. This program is open to riders between 14 and 17 years of age. Age is a guide; skill level/ability/fitness may also determine suitability. In some cases we may use the 2WA ITT times as a guide for suitability. \nWho is this Program For?\nThe squad training session is a Trailhead Coaching program and is run independently of the 2Wheel Academy\, however it does compliment the 2WA skills based program nicely\, as well as the BMBC Summer Series racing. \nRiders will ideally have intentions of training in preparation for a goal event eg. State and National level series races along with National Titles.  The session will cater to riders who are focussing on cross country along with gravity enduro or down hill. This session is for riders who are wanting to take their riding further\, both in skills and fitness. It is imperative that riders have sufficient bike fitness to ride for up to 2hrs in challenging terrain including up to 500m elevation gain in this time period\, yes we have to be able to go up to go down! \nIf you are unsure of your riders suitability to take participate in this program please get in touch with us here to discuss suitability \nSession Structure\nEach training session will have a specific focus and will rotate between the below session types: \n\nTimed race simulations or interval sessions to develop race craft/race fitness\nIntermediate to advanced skills sessions\nGuided endurance rides for maintenance of general fitness and to build endurance\n\nOur goal for this program is to foster a fun\, social but also competitive atmosphere for peers of a similar age with similar goals. \nProgram Details\n\nTotal Sessions: 8 sessions in total\nMake-Up Sessions: Offered at the end of the term for any sessions postponed due to weather.\nAbsentee Policy: No credits for missed sessions due to absenteeism.\n\nSchedule\nDates: Thursdays throughout Term 4\, 2024: \n\n24th\, 31st\, of October\n7th\, 14th\, 21st\, 28th of November\n5th\, 12th of December\n\nTime: 5pm – 7pm (2-hour session) \nLocation: “La Larr Ba Gauwa MTB Park” meet at The Oak Forest Car Park \nCost\nProgram Fee: $296 Inc GST ($37.00 per session) \nCoaches\nAt this stage we will be offering 2 groups of up to 6 riders for this program so places will be limited. We feel very lucky to have Daan van Dorenmalen along with Jack Kelly rolling this program out for us. Both Daan and Jack are certified PMBIA Level 2 coaches\, qualified first aiders and have a wealth of coaching along with riding and race experience to offer our riders. You can checkout their bios by clicking on their name above. \nEquipment Required\n\nMTB in good working order ( brakes working\, brake levers working\, gears shifting\, tyres have ample tread and are not worn out\, chain is not worn)\nAustralian Standards Approved Helmet (no cracks\, preferably has been purchased in the last 2- 3 years)\nEquipment to fix a flat (pump\, tube\, C02 canister & repair plugs if you have tubeless tyres\, tyre levers etc.) and usual items for trailside repair (multitool)\nSuitable ride attire – Sun safe\, rain safe\nWater\, snacks\, sunscreen and any medications (All riders will need to be able to carry all their own water for the duration of the session – there is not water on site)\n\nImportant Note\nA minimum of 8 registrations is required for this program to proceed. \nWaitlist\nMissed out on a ticket?
