SUMMARY:Squad Training - Autumn/Winter 2025
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThis program will run on select Saturday mornings from May through to September 2025. This program is open to riders between 14 and 17 years of age. Age is a guide; skill level/ability/fitness may also determine suitability. \nWho is this Program For?\nThe squad training session is a Trailhead Coaching program and is run independently of the club’s 2Wheel Academy program\, however it does compliment the 2WA skills based program nicely\, as well as the BMBC Summer Series racing. \nFirst and foremost this program is to provide an opportunity for riders to stay connected with their peers and continue riding and learning throughout the ‘off season’ or colder months of the year. \nRiders will ideally have intentions of training in preparation for a goal event eg. State and National level series races along with National Titles.  The session will cater to riders who are focussing on cross country along with gravity enduro or down hill. This session is for riders who are wanting to take their riding further\, both in skills and fitness. It is imperative that riders have sufficient bike fitness to ride for up to 2hrs in challenging terrain including up to 500m elevation gain in this time period\, yes we have to be able to go up to go down! \nIf you are unsure of your riders suitability to take participate in this program please get in touch with us here to discuss suitability \nSession Structure\nEach training session will have a specific focus and will rotate between the below session types: \n\nTimed race simulations or interval sessions to develop race craft/race fitness\nIntermediate to advanced skills sessions\nGuided endurance rides for maintenance of general fitness\, build endurance and maintain connection between riders\n\nOur goal for this program is to foster a fun\, social but also competitive atmosphere for peers of a similar age with similar goals. \nProgram Details\n\nTotal Sessions: 7 sessions in total\nMake-Up Sessions: Offered at the end of the program for any sessions postponed due to weather.\nAbsentee Policy: No credits for missed sessions due to absenteeism.\n\nSchedule\nDates: Select Saturdays from early May – late September \nSession 1: 10th of May \nSession 2: 31st of May \nSession 3: 21st of June \nSession 4: 12th of July (School Holidays) \nSession 5: 2nd of August \nSession 6: 30th of August \nSession 7: 27th of September \nTime: 9am – 11am (2hr session) \nLocation: “La Larr Ba Gauwa MTB Park” meet at The Oak Forest Car Park \nCost\nProgram Fee: $315 Inc GST ($45.00 per session\, pricing covers staff penalty rates as the program runs on Saturdays.) \nCoaches\nAt this stage we will have a range of coaches who will be rolling this program out. The program will be managed by senior coach Daan van Dorenmalen along with Jack Kelly\, Roz Bradley\, Angus Melville and Jo Wall . Daan Jack and Jo are certified GSMBC Level 2 coaches\, Roz and Angus level 1. All coaches are qualified first aiders and have a wealth of coaching along with riding and race experience to offer our riders. \nEquipment Required\n\nMTB in good working order ( brakes working\, brake levers working\, gears shifting\, tyres have ample tread and are not worn out\, chain is not worn)\nAustralian Standards Approved Helmet (no cracks\, preferably has been purchased in the last 2- 3 years)\nEquipment to fix a flat (pump\, tube\, C02 canister & repair plugs if you have tubeless tyres\, tyre levers etc.) and usual items for trailside repair (multitool)\nSuitable ride attire – Sun safe\, rain safe\nWater\, snacks\, sunscreen and any medications (All riders will need to be able to carry all their own water for the duration of the session – there is not water on site)\n\nImportant Note\nA minimum of 8 registrations is required for this program to proceed. \nWaitlist\nMissed out on a ticket? SUMMARY:Winter Warmer Retreat 2025
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nJoin us for a weekend of mountain biking\, learning and connection in wonderful Harcourt on Dja Dja Wurrung country. Immerse yourself in place and nature.  \nA focused time for all things mountain biking and with like-minded people in a space for women and gender-diverse adults. Mountain bike skills coaching sessions and guided riding at La Larr Ba Gauwa Mountain Bike Park with our internationally certified Global Syndicate of MTB Coaches (GSMBC) who are local women experienced in teaching\, riding with and fostering inclusion for women and gender-diverse adults. This is not an action-packed party weekend – this is a time to slow down\, focus\, develop skills and reflect on individual and shared experiences in the group setting. \nWho is this for?\nThis retreat is for any strong beginner to Intermediate rider that is keen to progress skill\, feel empowered and improve confidence. We guarantee that you will leave the retreat a more capable and confident mountain biker. \nRiders need to be confident riding on green/blue mountain bike single track and/or on bike park terrain. \nWe endeavour to cater for individual rider levels within the group setting. It is our intention to safely progress all riders through learning that is appropriate to individual abilities – building confidence and providing the appropriate level of challenge. E-bikes welcome and encouraged! \n \nWhy La Larr Ba Gauwa MTB Park and Harcourt?\nThe unique terrain at La Larr Ba Gauwa Park can be challenging and contains variable terrain for strong beginners through to intermediate and advanced riders.It is the perfect setting to develop confidence riding a range of trail features: berms\, rock gardens\, jumps\, drops\, gaps jumps\, rock slabs\, roll downs along with steep gradients\, both up and down. There are also alternative options (e.g. “B lines” or more flowy trails) if riders are not confident and ready to ride these types of features. \n \nWhen\nFriday 14th – Sunday 16th of August 2026 \n\nCheck in from 5pm\, go for a self-guided ride/walk or enjoy the Harcourt surrounds.\nRetreat closes at 3pm on Sunday the 16th August\n\nWhere will we stay?\n\nShared accommodation at Create at Harcourt (sleeps 12: twin and triple share rooms with a combination of double and single beds). Shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. \nWe have capacity to offer a few tickets to those who are not staying on site\, this might suit local riders who would like to be part in all the retreat offerings except for the overnight accommodation. \n\n  \n \nWhat is Included\n\n3 x 3hr tailored MTB skills sessions\, facilitated by our qualified and experienced women coaches (valued at $360pp). Small group sizes (1:6 max) to maximise learning and opportunities for feedback.\nFirst aid and emergency response provided where needed by our Wilderness First Aid certified guides and support staff\nBasic trailside mechanical repair and support\nOptional morning stretches ‘Get Ready to Ride’\n2 x fully catered dinners on Friday and Saturday nights by Harcourt Produce Store\, 1 x lunch by Harcourt Produce Store Select breakfast supplies: fresh local Sourdough breads from Blumes Historic Bakery\, a selection of tea\, condiments\, fresh fruit and snacks. All dietary requirements catered for.\nOptional barista made coffee by from the produce store – A coffee order will be taken for those requiring morning caffeination.\n2 nights accommodation at Create at Harcourt (All linen provided)\nOptional Krush bike care session\nBushwalk at “Dog Rocks” Liyanganyuk Banyul (Mount Alexander).\nAccess to private coaching app for communication before and after retreat. Ongoing interaction and networking encouraged.\n\nWhat is Not included\n\nLunch on Saturday – We will be heading back into town for a sit down lunch and coffee at the Harcourt Produce Store\, this will be at riders expense.\nWe will provide a selection of freshly baked sourdough Breads and condiments for breakfasts\, you must supply your own breakfast supplies if you have alternate breakfast preferences.\nSpecialised riding snacks and energy bars. Some snacks and a selection of tea will be provided at the accommodation\, but you will need to bring your own personal ride snacks and electrolyte replacements while on the bike.\nBike hire\nSpare tubes\, chain lube\, bike servicing\nAlcoholic beverages. Feel free to BYO a nice bottle of wine or beverage of your choice to enjoy in the evenings\n\nCost:\nEarly bird pricing available until 14th May 2026 \n\nTwin/Triple share: $899.00 per person including GST\nPrivate Queen Room: $999 per person including GST\nSelf accommodating: $720 per person including GST (Includes all aspects of the retreat except overnight accommodation)\n\nMaximum 15 riders *Please note the retreat requires a minimum of 8 participants to go ahead. \nCancellations:\nCancellation by Participant:  If you can’t make the retreat and need to cancel your booking within 60 days\, we can offer a 50% credit to a future retreat within 2 years. If you need to cancel within 30 days there will be no refund or credit offered. You may transfer your booking to another person at any stage prior to the retreat start date at no cost. \nCancellation by Trailhead Coaching: The retreat will be cancelled if it does not meet minimum number of 8 participants. We will attempt to give 14 days’ notice and offer a transfer to an alternate retreat or a full refund.  \nTrailhead Coaching reserves the right to modify\, adapt or cancel the retreat without notice\, due to actual or predicted adverse weather such dangers such as floods\, fires\, government and health requirements\, or other reasons. In such cases no refunds or credits will be given.
