MTB Skills Session
This session is for riders who are just starting out on their MTB journey, or similarly who are well and truly in the midst of it! This is a group skills session specifically for women, our coaches offer a specialised and unique experience – run by women, for women!
The goal of this session is to introduce riders to the fundamental skills of MTB and develop more consistent application of these in your riding. Our qualified, knowledgeable and experienced coaches provide carefully crafted instruction combined with specific individualised feedback. This approach supports your progression of skill in a supportive and fun environment.
Below is a list of what may potentially be covered in the session, but this will also be determined by the participants in the group, their goals, ability level and previous exposure to skills coaching content.
Body position; climbing and descending, fundamental cornering skills, operation of controls; brakes to safely and confidently control speed, gear selection to maintain optimal cadence and trail scanning to ride more technical terrain and maintain flow.
Learning the fundamentals will allow you to form a solid base that will act as the building blocks for your ongoing development as a rider.
The session caters to those who are starting out as riders and attempting aspects of skill development for the first time. We tailor experiences and opportunities to build confidence through the application and understanding of good technique.
More experienced and consistent riders are provided with an opportunity to consolidate the fundamentals, replace bad habits with good ones and build a solid base from which more advanced skills can be acquired.
The maximum participants in each group will be 6 so as to maximize your learning time.
*****Please note this session requires a minimum of 4 riders for the session to go ahead*****
