Overview
This 2-day program is designed specifically for our younger ‘Dirt Riders.’ It offers an excellent introduction to off-road riding and is perfect for newer riders to develop fundamental bike handling skills. Balance bikes are welcome!
Rider Levels / Rider Grouping System
Our new rider levels system focuses on bike setup, confidence, riding experience, and skill level, replacing the previous age-based grouping. Age will still be a guideline, but it will no longer be the main factor for group placement. More details on rider levels can be found here, along with a pictorial glossary for bike setup and relevant terms. If you’re unsure about where your rider fits, feel free to get in touch for assistance.
Session Structure
This program uses fun, game-based group activities to help riders improve their balance, control, and overall bike handling skills. Sessions are carefully designed to ensure progression, and it is essential that the two sessions are completed consecutively. After developing these skills in an open area, riders will apply them on the trail using the ‘community loop’ and select trails at Muldoon Reserve.
