Overview

This new offering for Trailhead blends mountain biking skills with adventure and outdoor play. Designed for Rad and Flow Riders, the program focuses on connecting with La Larr Ba Gauwa on Djaara country through activities that develop fundamental MTB skills, nature play, and self-discovery.

Rider Levels / Rider Grouping System

Our new rider levels system focuses on bike setup, confidence, riding experience, and skill level, replacing the previous age-based grouping. Age will still be a guideline, but it will no longer be the main factor for group placement. More details on rider levels can be found here, along with a pictorial glossary for bike setup and relevant terms. Session Structure

This program is a unique combination of mountain biking skills and outdoor nature play, offering activities such as scavenger hunts, art, and team challenges using found objects and bikes. It is designed to:

• Build essential MTB skills like body position, stability, and control efficiency.
• Foster connections with self, others, and nature.
• Help riders develop confidence and control on the challenging terrain of La Larr Ba Gauwa, including a focus on the park’s only green beginner trail for less confident riders.

The 3-hour sessions are flexible, with a balance of riding and adventure play, ensuring fun and skill progression. Riders will enjoy plenty of trail time and outdoor activities, with time for a BYO snack break.

Program Details

• Total Sessions: 2 sessions, 3 hours each
• Make-Up Sessions: If a day is rescheduled due to weather, the make-up session will be held the day after the program concludes.
• Absentee Policy: No credits for missed sessions due to absenteeism.

• Dates: Thursday 3rd & Friday 4th of October, 2024
• Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm
• Location: La Larr Ba Gauwa Park, Harcourt

Cost

• Program Fee: $165.00 Inc GST per rider (2 x 3-hour sessions)
