Our new rider levels are replacing our previous system of grouping by age. The new system will enable us to form groups based on; bike set up, confidence, current riding experience, and current skill level.  Age will still be a consideration, but generally only used for guidance. The new system will enable us to move riders across our groupings as they progress and develop their skills!

This 2-day Shred riders’ (riding at an intermediate level) program is designed to enable young people to develop the fundamental skills of mountain biking. Preferably they have already ridden the trails at La Larr Ba Gauwa or are confident riding both green and blue rated trails. They need to be confident operating their controls; brakes and gears and be willing to ride a range of trail features such as berms, rocks and steep gradients both up and down.

The program will progress your rider’s stability, balance and ability to operate their controls efficiently and safely. This will be done through fun group, activities that build essential skills and confidence helping students to ride safely and smoothly and with good control.

Each session:

• Designed and planned to progress the fundamental skills sets, therefore it is essential that the 2 sessions are completed consecutively.
• Includes plenty of trail time to develop rider’s ability to ride the purpose-built mountain bike terrain at La Larr Ba Gauwa with confidence, safety and control. As skills are consolidated, we progressively access more challenging terrain over the 2 days.
• Extended 3-hour session includes time for a short BYO snack/food break.

We maintain a coaching ratio of 1:6 which allows us to safely manage our riders and importantly to maximize learning time where we prioritize providing specific individual feedback.

• When: Thursday 11th & Friday 12th of April 2024
• Meet: The Oak Forest, La Larr Ba Gauwa Park, Harcourt
• Time: 9am – 12 pm
• Cost: $165.00 Inc GST per rider (2 x 3hr sessions)

If a day of the program needs to be rescheduled due to weather, this will fall on the day after the program concludes.
